GUIDELINES FOR PHOTO SHARING

Themes for photos: We generally aim to set themes for photos that will be shared: a theme is set at each meeting, and the idea is then to take photos within that theme to be shown and discussed at the next meeting. Sometimes, the theme will be designed to help you think about some aspect of camera technique, for example shutter speed. Other times, the theme may be based on a type of subject, like "water" or "leaves". You are encouraged to stay within the theme, but it's also fine if you want to share photos outside the theme.

How many photos: In an ideal world, everyone could share as many photos as they want. However, in practice we have to set a limit so that the meeting doesn't last too long. In addition, it is good to be selective, because it makes for better discussion if you choose the photos that you consider most interesting. Our current rule is that the presentation of your photos shouldn't last for more than a total of five minutes.

How to show photos at meetings: Most people bring their photos along to meetings on a memory stick, which can then be plugged into the laptop being used to display photos on the monitor in the Wesley Room. This generally works fine, but another way of doing it is to send your photos as attachments to an email to the convenor, who can then show them for you at the meeting. If you do it like that, you obviously need to send your photos to the convenor in advance of the meeting.
