Thursday 26th September 2024 at 2pm: This meeting will start with an introduction to our Photo Group. The photo-sharing theme of this meeting is "Dancing", and this is an opportunity to show photos from our recent photo-amble to the Sidmouth Folk Festival.

Thursday 24th October 2024 at 2pm: The meeting will begin with a short talk on "Photographing very small creatures", in preparation for our November meeting on this theme. The photo-sharing theme of the present meeting is "Over the summer" - an opportunity to show us what you have been up to, photography-wise, over the past few months.

Thursday 28th November 2024 at 2pm: We will enjoy sharing photos on the theme of "Creepy Crawlies, Flittery Flutteries, and Teeny Weenies". As the name implies, this is all about photographing very small creatures.

Thursday 23rd January 2025 at 2pm: The meeting will start with a talk on "Contre Jour" photography by Kris Frank. This means "against the light", and involves shooting into daylight or some other light source. For a fuller explanation, you may wish to look at the Wikipedia entry at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contre-jour . We will then share photos on the theme "My favourite images of 2024". Of course, we would like see photos that you took yourself, but if you wish you are also welcome to bring along one or two from the web that impressed you.

Thursday 27th February 2025 at 2pm: The intention for this meeting was that Kris Frank would give a short talk about "Street Photography". The rest of the meeting would be spent discussing the ever-important question "how can I improve this image?". Members were invited to bring along their problem images, show us how they transformed an image, or tell us what they did wrong to create a real boo-boo (we learn by our and others' mistakes!). Unfortunately, illness made it necessary to cancel the meeting at short notice. We hope to return to our discussion about improving images at a future meeting.

Thursday 27th March 2025 at 2pm: The meeting opened with Kris Frank's talk on "Street Photography", originally planned for the previous month. We then shared photos on the theme of "Over the winter". As well as photos with a wintry feeling, we welcomed any photos illustrating members' activities over the winter months.

Thursday 24th April 2025 at 2pm: The photo-sharing theme for this meeting is "Unexpected beauty". We can all agree where to find conventionally beautiful subjects to photograph - gardens, landscapes, stately homes, dance performances... The challenge for the theme of this meeting is to share images where you see beauty in unexpected places or under unexpected circumstances.

Thursday 22nd May 2025 at 2pm: At this meeting we will share photos on the theme "It's bloody difficult". The idea here is to get you photographing and talking about anything you have been finding a challenge to do or cope with, or someone else is finding difficult. If you prefer not to grapple with this theme, then you are welcome to show us other people's inspiring photos from websites, TV or even news media that you have really liked. Please note that we won't be able to put other people's photos on our website for copyright reasons.

Thursday 26th June 2025 at 2pm: At this meeting, everyone is invited to share their photos on the theme of "Mostly Devon gardens". This is not about our own gardens, but more about gardens from the RHS, National Trust, National Garden Scheme, Hospiscare Open Gardens, and any other major private gardens open to the public. Ideally, you should try to show photos only from Devon gardens, but we're not going to be overly dictatorial about this. Members of the U3A Gardens group, as well as the Birds, Trees and Bees group have been invited to join this meeting.
